Module Three:
Increasing Engagement & Commitment – 2 Days

FACTORS THAT IMPACT ON ENGAGEMENT:

• Discover why people don’t perform, the four primary causes for a lack of engagement and their solutions.
• Discern whether team members are conscious of what they know and don’t know.
• Identify the cause of lack of motivation.
• Help employees determine the purpose of their role rather than just their job description or activities, and how it connects with the organization’s purpose and values.
• Establish performance and development goals in partnership with team members.
• Use the Mentoring Guide™ to further develop counseling and coaching skills.
• Lead a diverse team.
• Understand the factors that impact on one’s ability to deal with people who are different.
• Complete the Discovering Diversity Profile®.
• Understand personal profile results and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify personal beliefs that can be barriers to accepting people who are different.
• Separate fact from fiction to determine how much one personally knows about people who are different and how to separate stereotypes from facts.
• Develop understanding, acceptance and interpersonal skills for dealing with team differences.
• Apply skills learned by preparing Action Plans for implementation with ones’ team.
  

FOLLOW UP APPLICATION

• Use handouts provided to facilitate discussion with team members about handling differences, and the impact differences have on the team.
• Use the Mentoring Guide™ with team members to increase their engagement level.
• Work with each team member to determine the purpose of their role and how it aligns with the organization’s purpose and values.
