Effective Employee Counseling

Supervisors and managers develop an understanding of the benefits of counseling, and effective ways to improve communications with employees in both positive and negative situations.

 

 

 

PROGRAM FEATURES:

  • Interactive discussions and role plays feature real-life management situations and enable participants to apply learning.
  • The addition of the DiSC® Managing Performance Action Planner aids the supervisor in planning for an effective counseling session, using the common behavioral language of DiSC®.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES AND BENEFITS:

  • Equips managers with tools to:
    • Give effective, constructive feedback to employees regarding their performance.
    • Document performance problems effectively.
    • Utilize proper disciplinary procedures for each situation.
    • Understand the difference between having compassion for employees and becoming victimized by an employee’s poor performance.
    • Refrain from accepting employee’s personal problems as an excuse for poor performance.
    • Acknowledge the impact of positive feedback in the employee/supervisor relationship.

PROGRAM FORMAT:

  • Sessions are 2 to 4 hours and are customized to meet client needs.
  • Group size is limited to 20 -25 people.
